Vera Wang – Hotel Madrid
“Hotel Madrid. The beauty, freedom, mystery and intoxication of Spain. Intimate and personal, these women inspire a subtle yet nonchalant sexuality. Louche, lazy, luxurious. This is fashion through a youthful yet sophisticated lens.” – Vera

The mood is dark yet sensuous in Vera Wang’s latest short film revealing the Spring 2016 Bridal Collection, ‘Hotel Madrid’. We travel to an elegantly abandoned hostile in Madrid where Vera showcases a determination for today’s bride to reveal their deep, sensuous side. A woman who knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to wear it. Vera Wang has been known in her most recent collections to push the envelope with her out of the box bridal designs and short films depicting a much less traditional bride, but her courageousness is always welcomed.
In her most recent 15-piece collection, Vera plays on the lightness of textures and fabrics. She creates a sort of ‘moody romanticism’ by layering soft mermaid shapes with silk crepe and sheer, soft tulle. A reoccurring theme in this particular collection is Vera’s emphasis on transparency, mostly created through soft Chantilly laces and tulle. The assorted collection is done in mostly ivory with touches of black in exaggerated adornments and embroideries. Amongst this airy collection, she creates an all-back, strapless gown with a very lovely ostrich feather skirt, which is quite exquisite.
